Building a Better Community - Keeping the Village Character


Criteria: Applicants should be graduating high school seniors who are US citizens and residents of West Barnstable. Applicants should demonstrate academic achievement and evidence of interest in civic affairs, including community service and volunteerism. Serious consideration will be given to those applicants who have demonstrated specific civic contributions related to West Barnstable community. Consideration will also be given to level of financial need. Applicants should plan to pursue post high school degree of higher learning.

Applicants need to submit:

• Cover letter of introduction highlighting reasons for applying and civic contributions

• West Barnstable Civic Association 2019 Application (Click Here)

• Letter of recommendation from High School

• Letter(s) of recommendation from employer, club, organization, or special service involvement committee

Finalist will interview with the WBCA Scholarship Committee. The Scholarship will be presented on May 21, 2019 at the Community Building.

Amount of Award: Two $1,000.00 or four $500 scholarships will be distributed based on the applicant pool. Deadline: March 29, 2019.
